Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist

Chesterfield, United Kingdom Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Substantive, 30 hours / week

As our Early Intervention for Psychosis Service has grown, we are in the fortunate position of looking for a Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist to join our new At-Risk Mental State (ARMS) Service.

This permanent position would ideally suit a CBT Therapist who is interested in working with a diverse group of people with a range of mental health problems (including experiences such as distressing voices or suspicious thoughts), who enjoys helping teams to think psychologically, and who is keen to develop their skills in an encouraging and supportive workplace.

In addition to the support of a Lead Clinical Psychologist, there are opportunities to receive specialist supervision and a range of training opportunities are available, particularly if you’ve not had the chance to work with psychotic experiences before.

In joining our ARMS Service, you’ll also be joining our wider Early Intervention Service.

This is a well-established service that has an enthusiastic team, including Clinical Psychologists and CBT Therapists, who are keen to work flexibly and creatively with individuals and families when recovering from an episode of psychosis.

The service has teams based in Derby and Chesterfield and posts are available in both of these teams.

This multi-disciplinary service, for people aged 14-65, is based in Derbyshire and aims to prevent people from developing severe mental health problems, including psychosis.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll work with a diverse population, providing specialist assessments, developing formulations that consider the effects of childhood adversity and trauma, and delivering evidence-based therapy.

You’ll also have the opportunity to support the team by providing advice, clinical supervision, and training, and by contributing to the development of a new psychologically-led service.

You’ll join a strong and well-led Division of 250 Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists working within Derbyshire Healthcare.

Staff wellbeing is a priority for us, and we actively support personal and professional development.

There are excellent opportunities for peer support across specialties, to join a range of specialist supervision groups, and to participate in regular in-house and external CPD. We’re also keen to support our staff with research activities and have helpful links with local training courses.

There is a thriving regional and national EIP network, which provides valuable opportunities for learning about and contributing to developments in ARMS.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to a new service for a highly diverse population in the heart of England. To find out more or to arrange a visit please do not hesitate to contact us.

We can offer a range of family friendly, flexible working arrangements to support our people in the workplace. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
