Rethink Mental Illness are hiring a Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at Herbert House, Salisbury.

Herbert House is a 15 bed registered care home. Providing a safe space for people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. There is a focus on supporting people to develop/ regain the life skills needed to live more independently.

How you will make a difference:

As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will assist people affected by mental illness in regaining confidence and engaging in everyday activities. You'll work closely with service users to help them achieve their personal goals and access the necessary support on their recovery journey.

  • Provide personalised key worker support, including one-on-one assistance and coordination with mental health agencies.
  • Prioritise each individual's needs, using communication and coaching to help them reach their goals.
  • Build respectful and honest relationships within professional boundaries, following the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Transferable life or work experience.
  • Strong listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the Charity’s values.
  • Experience in supporting people with mental illness or in a similar social care role, whether paid or voluntary.
