As the Commercial Director, you will play a crucial role in driving their commercial success with their largest customer. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Overseeing all aspects of contract negotiations, obligations, and implementation with the customer.
  2. Negotiating contracts, advising management, and supervising the implementation of contracts for optimal efficiency.
  3. Acting as a partner to the leadership team globally.
  4. Developing and executing effective commercial and contract strategies, maximizing revenue, and identifying commercial and contract opportunities.
  5. Fostering strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset.
  6. Leading a team of commercial professionals within the programmes organization, focusing on skill development and building a robust commercial function.
  7. Acting as the commercial and contract matter expert, enabling Programme Directors and Managers to navigate commercial issues and serving as a point of escalation for more strategic, complex, and contract matters.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement commercial and contract strategies to drive profitability.
  2. Serve as a contract matter expert from understanding, guidance, to management and maintenance of contracts.
  3. Support the Customer & Technology Strategy Director commercially with new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and market expansion.
  4. Matrix manage a high-performing commercial team, providing guidance, coaching, development, and support.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  6. Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of commercial initiatives.
  8. Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Job Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  2. Demonstrable experience in a senior commercial leadership role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the aerospace market, industry trends, and customer requirements.
  4. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful commercial strategies.
  6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  7. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  8. Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
  9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment – able to take a strategic view whilst also understanding the detail.
