JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for maximising the company's profitability and business development of paving customers in National and Independent Builder Merchants within South West area, in line with the overall budget and sales targets set and agreed. 


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Managing the budget and overall performance for the South West, in line with approved targets for developing paving stockists of our sandstone and porcelain ranges.
  • Manage and develop key relationships with all customers within the patch, as well as internal Managers and their sales teams in the above areas.
  •  Maintain a record of visits including outcomes, updating all enquiries.
  •  Proactively grow our customer presence in the South West region.
  •  Identifying new business opportunities within the region to explore further with the line manager.
  •  To lead planned training sessions with customers and internal coordinators on selling techniques/material training.
  •  To present a monthly area update and plan with joint objectives and goals for the team.
  •  To identify marketing ideas that will engage customers and add value to the region.
  •  To liaise with the sales co-ordinators and other colleagues within your area to promote and maximise additional revenue opportunities.
  •  Maintain awareness of competitor activity within the area and any potential impact this may have.
  •  Ensure accuracy of all reports and paperwork and submit them to required deadlines.
  •  Liaise with Ops and transport teams to ensure quality service and product to the customer.
  • Any other additional tasks as may be required by the line manager or Director.
  • Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.   



DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a full UK Driving License (Essential).
  • Must live in the South West of England and be happy to work on the road as well as occasional overnight stays (Essential).
  • External Sales / Field Sales Experience (Essential).
  • Builders merchants Experience (Desirable).
  • Broad product range knowledge - Paving, Natural Stone, Porcelain, Building materials.
