We are seeking an enthusiastic band Occupational Therapist to join the Integrated Stroke Early Supported Discharge and Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service.

The Integrated service provides both stroke rehabilitation and community neuro rehabilitation supporting service users with a variety of complex needs. The Early Supported Discharge Service (ESD) is a key pathway for stroke survivors allowing them to leave hospital earlier than they may have otherwise; they receive up to weeks of intensive rehab in their home / community or in one of our inpatient Community wards in Cambridge or Peterborough.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established multi-disciplinary team comprising of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Specialist Nurses, and Neuro Rehab assistants. This role requires the successful candidate to manage a clinical caseload across the South of Cambridgeshire. 

Main duties of the job

You will provide comprehensive assessments and deliver evidence-based specialist neuro occupational therapy programmes. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in supporting patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs to achieve their potential.

We pride ourselves on the development of our workforce and provide a variety of internal and external training opportunities. The successful post holder will receive and provide clinical supervision and an annual appraisal.
The ideal candidate should be flexible and adaptable to support service delivery.

The role involves visiting patients in their homes, wards, or community gyms. There may be times when there is a requirement to provide clinical cover elsewhere within Cambridgeshire. The role requires agile working often using virtual consultation to manage a caseload. We will provide a smart phone and laptop to support this role.

The successful post holder must be able to travel independently across their work locality, have a valid driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
