Job Summary

The Stroke organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Associate Director. This position will be responsible for leading a team of staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality support to stroke survivors and carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of staff and volunteers to champion and support improvements to NHS stroke services, building effective relationships with key stakeholders and influencing local stroke policy and practice.
  • Engage with the wider stroke community to put stroke on the map and ensure stroke survivors have the support they need, with a focus on addressing health inequalities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the delivery of stroke services, including the development of new programs and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers, and to develop and implement solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, including setting goals and objectives, and providing coaching and development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience influencing local or national policy change, ideally in health and social care.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and developing and implementing successful programs and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
