NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. The post is fixed term for 18 months and the 37h/week are expected to be worked over Monday-Friday. Flexible working and secondment requests will be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Pharmacist to work within the Sponsor Pharmacy clinical trials service within NHS GGC. Based at the Research & Innovation Department, Dykebar Hospital, you will provide pharmacist support within the Sponsor Pharmacy clinical trials team. Travel across sites may be required to provide services at other hospitals on occasion

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde are Sponsor for a number of clinical trials either alone or in conjunction with University of Glasgow. The major component of this role is to provide support to the existing Sponsor Pharmacy team in the set-up and conduct of clinical trials that run across multiple sites in the UK and Europe. This will involve protocol review, logistics and planning of the medicines related aspects of the project and supporting participating sites. You will work closely with the wider Sponsor team within NHS GGC and with colleagues within the University of Glasgow departments that support clinical research.

You must be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council in the UK. A keen interest in research and previous experience of clinical trials is desirable.
