Behaviour Support Mentor

A Primary Pupil Referral Unit School based in Leyland is looking for full-time behaviour support teaching assistants to make a difference to their school. Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health additional needs, Reception to Year 6 who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school, you will be required to follow an EHC plan to support their learning and development fully. 

To be successful, experience supporting children/ young adults with additional needs is essential. Ideally this would be in an educational setting however the school will accept individuals who have experience in support work, care work etc. All we ask if you have a passion for helping individuals and are keen to learn. 

You must be: 

  • Resillient.
  • Passionate.
  • Motivated.
  • Confident.

Key Duties:

  • Support in the planning and evaluation of learning and activities. 
  • Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress.
  • Support the class teacher in monitoring, assesing, recording and reporting pupils' progress. 
  • Encourage pupils' cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural development and wellbeing. 

Key Information: 

  • Full time role, Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30pm. 
  • Term time only role.
  • PAYE Contract.
  • Primary SEMH Provision. 
  • Leyland based, PR25.
  • Competitive hourly rate of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties.
