**Position Overview:**

The Construction Logistics Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics strategies on construction projects in East London. This role ensures the efficient movement and storage of materials, the management of logistics personnel, and the adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  1. **Logistics Planning and Coordination:**

- Develop and implement logistics plans to support construction schedules.

- Coordinate the delivery and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies.

- Collaborate with project managers, site managers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

  1. **Inventory Management:**

- Oversee the storage and distribution of materials.

- Implement inventory control systems to track materials usage and availability.

- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations.

  1. **Team Management:**

- Supervise and manage logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse staff, and equipment operators.

- Provide training and support to ensure team members understand and follow logistics procedures.

- Conduct performance evaluations and manage personnel issues.

  1. **Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:**

- Ensure all logistics activities comply with health and safety regulations.

- Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections.

- Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness among the logistics team.

  1. **Vendor and Supplier Management:**

- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.

- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing.

- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes.

  1. **Budget Management:**

- Develop and manage the logistics budget.

- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures.

- Report on budget performance and variances.

  1. **Project Reporting:**

- Maintain accurate records of logistics activities and provide regular reports to project management.

- Use data and analytics to improve logistics efficiency and effectiveness.

- Prepare reports on logistics performance and suggest improvements.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, construction management, or a related field.

- Proven experience in construction logistics, preferably in an urban environment like East London.

- Strong understanding of construction processes and logistics requirements.

- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Proficient in logistics software and inventory management systems.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the construction industry.

**Working Conditions:**

- Primarily based on construction sites in East London.

- May require working outside of regular business hours to meet project deadlines.

- Role involves both office-based and on-site activities.

**Salary:**

- Competitive Day rate based on experience and qualifications.
