A highly reputable Special Educational Needs (SEN) alternative provision in Thrapston is seeking a dedicated and compassionate General SEN Teaching Assistant to join their permanent staff team starting in September 2024.

Role Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational programs for students with special educational needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring their individual learning goals are met.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
- Support students' social and emotional development, helping them to build essential life skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement effective strategies and interventions.
- Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to review meetings.
- Assist with classroom management and the preparation of learning materials.
- Contribute to the overall well-being and safety of the students.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing various challenges.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse needs of students and the school environment.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are advantageous but not essential.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to undertake further training as required.
- An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
