TV Product Manager

Role and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Creates and implements product marketing plans for a TV category to meet critical metrics
Develops go-to-market strategies, including pricing, distribution, product mix, and promotional recommendations
Lineup management – directly manage a specific TV product segment, including lineup optimization and initiatives targeted at driving operational efficiency or responding to market challenges
Price administration – Supports, manages, or directs the management of pricing strategies by product and by segment and manages promotional roadmap for assigned products to drive sales, market share, and to ensure that market forecasts are achieved
Sales and P&L Analysis – Analyzes sales forecasts and monitors sales and marketing investments as needed for maintaining accurate target plans and inventory balance and for achieving business P&L goals
Forecasting and Inventory Monitoring and Optimization – Prepares and owns forecasts for assigned categories, collaborates with supply chain, sales, and customers to ensure appropriate inventory levels throughout the product lifecycle, and timely end-of-life (EOL) strategies
Tracks weekly product sales data by account and by SKU to manage forecasts and resolve sales challenges (e.g., recommends pricing adjustments, suggests removal of product from floor, provides retailers with data-driven recommendations on which models to promote)
Collaborates with sales teams and customers to understand customer retailer strategies and challenges, and in general to provide the marketing support needed for successful selling
Conducts sales and supply chain meetings, develops weekly forecasts, and confirms the sales estimates essential for achieving supply chain efficiency and appropriate inventory levels
Works with Training team to create training material for sales associates
Pitches product line-up features and strategy at key customer meetings and events
Conducts competitive market analysis using various systems as well as online research

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Experience: Product Management or relevant experience in the consumer electronics industry.
Communication: Build relationships across businesses and cultures. Understanding requests and handling multiple partners. Confident and comfortable in presenting to senior partners or large groups
Innovation: Challenge ways of thinking, generating creative perspectives and establishing new, effective ways of working. Identifying future trends and how to use these for business success
Problem Solving: Seek and identify root causes or problems, establishing appropriate solutions and tracking results to conclusion
Eye For Business: Understand the product and organisation structure; Analysing industry trends and competitors to create business opportunities
Planning & Organising: The ability to design systematic and feasible strategies and develop clear plans and specific initiatives that build a competitive advantage, and inspire change programs / projects with all partners to enable sustainable growth for Samsung.
Product Know How: You will have a real passion for technology and consumer electronics as well as the capability to understand technology features to have credible conversations in the category.
Decision Making: Establish alternatives from a rational perspective; Making judgements accurately and on time.
Customer Focus: Understand customer needs & desires. Improve customer satisfaction by operating resources and making decisions based on understanding the customer.
Global Perspective: Understanding the global business environment and handling conflict and alignments between local and global strategies

What does success look like?
Success after 3 months involves establishing connections, gaining deep knowledge of Samsung and competitors' product lineups, and being ready to take ownership of areas within the TV category. By 6 months, the individual should have taken full ownership of these areas, working independently on tasks and further building relationships with partners. After 12 months, success entails independently driving the TV business, proactively identifying opportunities and risks, and building strong relationships across various functions within the UK/European office and HQ. They should also become an expert on Samsung products and have a solid understanding of competitor offerings.
