Monday to Friday

with one Saturday required to be worked once every 2 3 months

Main duties of the job

Being the Patient Administrator will see you working in a team of 4 everyday, your requirements will be split between front of house reception area and the back office.

You will meet and greet patients and visitors at reception, ensuring they are in the right place and booked in with the correct met by the correct person they are meeting. You will be managing the booking and potential cancellations bookings including all the following ups, documentation, communication and notification that would be involved. Youll be following the Patient Pathway and keep track of their movements between departments.

You will be answering and documenting phone calls from patients, GP surgeries and other hospital departments on all aspects relating to booking appointments, patient admissions and patient referral letters.

Through successful training, our Patients Administrators are very knowledgeable and you being confident, will also be providing advice in all matters relating to patient appointments.

Youll be scheduling patients for surgery, co-ordinating and aligning dates and ensuring that the patient meets the criteria required before hand with assistance from the clinical teams. 

Another important requirement of this position would be the booking of outpatient sessions, using the strict booking guidelines adhering to breach dates and ensuring optimal utilisation of clinic, theatre lists and gathering patient information where appropriate for outpatient clinics.

About us

It is envisaged that the Patient Administrator will come from a very similar background carrying out effective administration tasks relating to patients or a large customer base. You will be an effective communicator at all levels both written and verbal and will have strong IT skills able to pick up new systems easily. Multi-tasking will be second nature to you as you will have examples of having had to juggle multiple tasks at the same time. Youll be focus and committed on your delivery of set tasks and requirements, always looking to achieve a very good standard of work, if not higher.
