What we’re looking for…

The Finance Manager - Product Costing and Procurement is a key role within the Barr Soft Drinks Finance team. It has responsibilities across a number of financial processes and also faces into the business through providing financial support to the functional business units The role holder must have the ability to work with the detail, but also raise it up and engage with stakeholders across the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for product costing and relevant P&L areas such as Overhead Recoveries and Purchase Price Variance, as well as business partnering COGS reduction and other product change projects.

Your responsibilities will include...

As a Finance Manager your responsibilities will include;

Annual Cost Update: Ensure accurate and efficient annual cost setting by managing transfer pricing, overhead apportionment, stakeholder engagement, and clear communication of cost drivers. Product Costing: Drive process improvements and maintain accurate cost data for raw materials to finished goods, ensuring data integrity in JDE. Costing Projects: Support both tactical and longer term decision making by providing indicative costings for product changes, analyzing external co-packing costs, and validating cost reduction initiatives. Period Close & Reporting: Handle period close activities including overhead recovery analysis, production variance analysis, and business partnering with Procurement for performance management and reporting. Budgeting & Forecast: Prepare monthly forecasts and manage the annual budget process, ensuring clear and diligent financial forecasting. Financial Governance and Control: Conduct financial control activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, cost control, and support for external audits. Initiatives: Implement improvement initiatives to streamline reporting and identify opportunities for increased profitability across finance and business functions. Systems: Develop expertise in key finance systems (JD Edwards and Hubble) and collaborate with IT to resolve issues and improve system processes

What you’ll bring...

The successful candidate will have; 

CIMA/ACCA/ICAS or equivalent qualified, high level of numeracy and accuracy are required in most areas of accountability with the ability to add value in improving processes and systems; Around 5 years PQE spent in industry, preferably within Consumer Goods Strong leadership, collaboration and business partnering skills, especially in cross-functional contexts. Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and transfer into meaningful financial information for use in business decision making. Previous experience of costing within a manufacturing environment is highly preferred, with substantial relevant management reporting experience as necessary. Experience using JD Edwards operating system would be beneficial.
