About the role:

As a Disability Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) you will:

  • provide non-therapeutic support to victims/survivors, face-to-face or via telephone, text and/or email
  • provide advocacy, impartial advice & information to survivors with a focus on those with a disability
  • conduct risk assessments & develop service plans to address identified needs
  • you will work to promote survivor's confidence, resilience, and empowerment both within and outside of the criminal justice system
  • attend meetings as required & provide reports
  • undertake talks & presentations to local groups & agencies on the work of Victim Support, developing networks & partnership working throughout the local community

You will need:

  • Expereince working with complex cases
  • To be able to demonstrate resilience
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable clients, able to maintain professional boundaries
  • To demonstrate the ability to work in a trauma-informed manner
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to monitor, evaluate and administer reports for our external funders.
