BAND 3 The post holder will under the guidance and direction of the Lead RRPI Instructor, Specialist Adviser or RRPI Network Lead provide direct training in the RRPI. The post holder will deliver supporting theory, non-physical interventions as well as physical interventions. The post holder will contribute to the development of training in collaboration with the Lead Instructors, Specialist Advisors (Personal Safety/Aggression Management) and the Network Leader RRPI. This job description is an outline of the main duties of the post.

The post holder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as directed. The content of this post will be reviewed in consultation with the post holder when necessary and in line with the service developments. Key Result Areas: To work as part of South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (SWYPFT) Management of Aggression and Violence Network under the direction of the Lead Instructors, Specialist Advisors and Network Leader RRPI. To deliver under the supervision of the lead instructor and or specialist advisors a range of training programmes on the Prevention and Management of Aggression and Violence across all Business Delivery Units and all Trust sites.

To ensure training is in accordance with Trust operational and training policies and procedures. Deliver training that focuses on the primary prevention of violence and de-escalation before physical intervention and the importance of the intervention selected is a reasonable and proportionate response to the risk posed. To promote a philosophy throughout the organisation of empowerment and least restrictive practice in line with the Trusts vision values and goals. Also in accordance with best practice from a legal and ethical perspective.
