The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the academic and pastoral needs of students. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those who need extra help to achieve their academic goals.
  • Assist students in understanding and engaging with the curriculum across various subjects.
  • Offer mentoring and support to help students develop effective study habits and resilience.

Classroom Assistance:

  • Collaborate with teachers to prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Help to create and organise teaching materials, resources, and classroom displays to enhance the learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management to ensure a positive and productive learning atmosphere.

Pastoral Care:

  • Build positive relationships with students, providing encouragement and support to help them reach their full potential.
  • Monitor students' progress and well-being, providing feedback to teachers and supporting individual learning plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and carers regarding students' progress and any concerns.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the school's academic and pastoral teams, as well as other staff members, to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Participate in regular meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and events.

Requirements:

  • A degree in any field.
  • A strong interest in education and a passion for helping students succeed both academically and personally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to working with young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
