Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Maths Graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, supporting students' learning and development in maths.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who may need additional help in understanding maths concepts
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective maths lessons
  • Support students during lessons, ensuring they stay focused and are able to engage with the material
  • Help to develop and deliver targeted intervention sessions for students who are underachieving or need additional support
  • Assist with exam preparation and revision sessions, ensuring students are confident and well-prepared
  • Monitor student progress, provide feedback to teachers, and suggest adjustments to lesson plans as needed
  • Support the creation of teaching resources and materials, ensuring they cater to a variety of learning styles
  • Help to promote a positive learning environment, encouraging a love for mathematics and problem-solving
  • Offer pastoral support to students where needed, helping them build confidence in their mathematical abilities
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and maths-related clubs, encouraging students' engagement with the subject outside of the classroom
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate with a degree in maths or a related subject
  • A strong passion for education and a desire to help students succeed in maths
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging way
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or through voluntary work, is beneficial but not essential
  • A desire to pursue a career in teaching or education is advantageous
