Swansea, United Kingdom Welsh Ambulance Services Full time
Job overview

There are new and exciting opportunities to join the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust (WASUT), People Services Team, in the role of an Investigating Officer. Successful applicants will work across Wales to support investigations and other employee relations cases that adopt a compassionate practice ethos and which are undertaken in line with the All Wales Disciplinary and Respect and Resolution Polices.

Investigations will include concerns raised about behaviours, misconduct, clinical issues and external factors that involve other agencies such as the police. WASUT aims to provide psychological safety through the introduction of our Speaking up Safely platform which enables colleagues to raise concerns anonymously and in a safe environment.

This post is fixed term for 24 months due to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

You will need to show compassion, understanding in often emotional situations whilst being analytical and experienced in report writing. Presenting at hearings and employment tribunals will also be a requirement, with a good understanding of employment law and employee relations policies.

We are looking for effective communicators with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers and trade union partners based on trust and good practice, to foster a culture of positive employee relations.

The post holder will be considered an expert in undertaking investigations whilst providing coaching and mentoring to colleagues to build resilience and capacity across WASUT with an aim to improve quality and time scales of investigations.

In 2023 WASUT launched our Sexual Safety Guiding Principles that aim to bring about positive change, improve access to support and reporting options for affected colleagues. The principles also provide clarity on expectations of behaviours from all of Team WASUT in collaboration with advocates within the Voices network.

We work in an agile manner, working from home and from key offices across Wales. Due to the role covering Wales there will be a requirement for some travel

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
