What you'll be doing

As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:

Overall accountability for the performance of a project(s) during the preconstruction (Stage 1 or ECI) phase. Ensuring Customer expectations and Balfour Beatty standards are met. Overall accountability for Customer relationships on preconstruction projects ensuring that project progress is clearly communicated at all stages of the project. Understanding of design management processes and ability to coordinate internal or external design partners. Coordinate and manage project development and senior management governance sign off at the various gate stages. Oversee the establishment, production and implementation of preconstruction/bid management processes. Compile governance papers and tender settlement documentation. Project management plans and strategies. Have full knowledge of the tender requirements, ensuring compliance in all respects of bid / tender deliverables be aware of company best practice and innovation within bids and tenders across the business stream. Liaise with co-sponsors and internal bid steering committee for large and multiple bids, including preparation of Gate papers. Live the Balfour Beatty Values. Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm. Support the delivery of CSUKs Sustainability activities. Be an active team member within our preconstruction function and support junior staff

Who we're looking for

As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will have the following personal qualities and experience:

Excellent people skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Previous experience of preconstruction or project management within the civil engineering or construction industry is desirable. Understanding of the principles of framework procurement and experience within the most current forms of procurement is required (e.g. single stage, two-stage, negotiated). Results driven with an understanding of risk management and profit. Team player who encourages high standards and is quality driven. Customer focussed with the ability to recognise value opportunities. Ability to travel within the Region and Nationally. Able to obtain and maintain Security Clearance.
