An exciting opportunity has become available for a RN to join the Clinical Education Team at the Royal Marsden working across all Trust sites as a Band 7 Practice Educator for Healthcare Support Workers and clinical staff in Bands 2 – 4. This is a great opportunity for a RN who is passionate about supporting staff in practice and is interested in developing their career within Practice Education.
The successful post holder will support the development of HCSW’s with and without cancer experience, monitor the progress and compliance for HCSW’s completing the care certificate and maintain accurate records. The successful candidate will support career development for HCSW’s and other clinical staff in bands 2 -4, working collaboratively with senior nurses, the Workforce team and external stakeholders to develop innovative education and workforce programmes that support the Trust’s strategic objectives and retention.

NMC Registration Evidence of ongoing professional development Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of experience. Experience of mentorship/preceptorship/clinical education or demonstrable experience of supporting all learners in practice.

Desirable criteria

PG Cert in Clinical Education Professional Nurse Advocate

Sufficient post registration nursing experience in oncology or speciality to be confident and competent in using the required skills to do the job. Experience of supporting learners in practice SACT competent Competent in Venepuncture and Cannulation Competent in Medicine Management (Oral/IV)

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff

At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
