This is a temporary role, covering a vacancy created by a staff member moving to another role to provide maternity cover. You will be working with a small, enthusiastic team in a fast-moving environment where policy is being developed. The role provides an excellent opportunity for colleagues who wish to have an introduction to the commissioning of care for individuals who are eligible for funding under the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and Children and Young People's Continuing Care (CYPCC) pathways, and more specifically, an introduction to the funding of such care via Personal Health Budgets (PHBs), where the individual uses funds provided by the NHS to purchase their own care.

The PHB team is responsible for ensuring PHBs are set up and controlled in accordance with NHS England and NHS Dorset's policies.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant willbe responsible for assisting colleagues with the setting up and administrationof PHBs, dealing with queries from colleagues and PHB holders, and undertaking auditsof PHBs to provide assurance for NHS Dorset that money provided to PHB holdershas been spent in accordance with their agreement with us. This will involve:

the inputting and maintenance ofdata in Excel, Microsoft Teams, and the Caretrack case management system dealing with email and telephonequeries from colleagues, PHB holders, and other key stakeholders setting up PHBs processing monthly payment runs whichtransfer funds to PHB holders and care providers auditing PHB returns reclaiming excess PHB funds dealing with invoicing queries working with Commissioningcolleagues to identify areas for improvement to ensure the team provides aquality service to all stakeholders. undertaking project work at thedirection of managers.

Working within the Commissioning & Placements team, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the team to deliver an effective and competent level of administration and to consistently ensure a client focused service is provided which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.

The post holder will supervise accurate and timely inputting and maintaining of data on data systems together with the associated correspondence, ensuring standard operating procedures are applied within the team.

The post holder will delegate work within the Brokerage team and ensure that the Brokerage team processes are followed in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring standard operating procedures are applied within the team, highlighting instances where these need to be reviewed or amended and support the team to ensure that the portfolio of tasks and projects are planned, managed and delivered effectively and on time.

The postholder will be required to broker best value care for complex care needs, potentially dealing with multiple providers in circumstances that, on occasion, can be emotionally challenging.

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant previous proven experience in relevant subject 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English Evidence of Continued Personal Development
