About the role
Morrison Water Services are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work on a collection of substantial Mains Rehabilitation Projects through to the end of AMP8 (2030) as part of our Thames Water Capital Delivery Water contract, to be based in South London/Surrey area.As a Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring robust estimates align to scope and making allowances for risks and opportunities. Working closely with the Project Delivery teams. Producing commercial performance reports together with cost and value reports. Ensuring actual costs are interrogated and managed. Providing reports on actual costs vs budget. Identifying underlying reasons for any cost variances & developing solutions. Ensuring that accurate records are kept & maintained so that financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available. Liaising with the project team to ensure any contractual notifications required are issued in accordance with the contract. Effective change control to maximise value and minimise exposure. Subcontractor engagement and management. This role will be based in the South London/Surrey region with a mix of office, site and home working.Do you have a degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position?
Are you commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance?
Are you a proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity?
Are you results driven individual with the capability of working on your own initiative?
Can you deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently?
Water/Utilities experience would be desirable but not essentialWhat’s in it for you?
