About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team in Redhill / Canary Wharf where you can deliver complex work that really matters to our business and become involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the industry.

Our Rail Civils Project offers the opportunity to work with partner organisations across the rail industry. The role involves working on various frameworks for Network Rail including the maintenance and refurbishment of buildings, structures, bridges, drainage, earthworks, soil stabilization and emergency repairs, geotechnical works, track renewals, depot renewals and modernisation, station improvements and AFA schemes.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, we deploy innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibilities are as follows:

Adhere to the Companies GMCEs, BMS and other governance Manage and develop a commercial team to support delivery of the projects Estimate, manage and final account various works of various sizes and values Measure, record & value work supervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures Seek out, locate and assemble pre and post contract documentation, complimented with the necessary administration skills Be responsible for weekly and monthly works programmes; awareness of different programme formats Use the companies ERP System and BMS systems, collation of cost and value information, preparation of cost reconciliation statements and collect information required to specify procurement requirements Record and document information including registration of interest, understand the steps / documentation required, collation of cost and value information, measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors Maintain a personal development plan and help support development of others

Who we're looking for

The following qualifications or equivalent are essential:

Hold a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

An organised, innovative and creative Senior Quantity Surveyor with previous experience in a similar role of managing costs. Experience of financial and commercial control within a project. Experience of procuring and managing supply chain and working as part of a larger commercial teams. Experience supporting the development of others. Membership of or working towards relevant chartership. Proven record of working to deadlines, working efficiently and to a high standard experience of infrastructure projects with resilience and determination to succeed.
