Job Advert Role Description
The Priory Hospital Preston has established an excellent reputation for offering calming and recovery focused residential treatment for up to 38 service users.
Due to our ongoing development of the therapy team and therapy provision at Priory Hospital Preston, we are looking to recruit an highly motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join the team. Primary duties will be across both our Specialist Eating Disorder Unit alongside some working on our two acute wards.
The post holder will work within a wide multi-disciplinary team, and work closely with the Lead Occupational Therapist in developing a comprehensive therapeutic programme for their designated ward. Consequently, a team approach to working is essential, excellent communication skills with both colleagues and patients is essential within this role.
The successful candidate must show excellent skills of independent working, pro activity and organisation. Key aspects of the role will include the facilitation of therapeutic groups, supporting patients via 1:1 sessions, and liaison with community agencies.
Candidates will ideally have 2 years qualified experience and experience of working in a mental health setting although this is not essential for the role. Flexibility is required in this role, hours and pattern of working to be agreed following successful appointment. There may be requirement for occasional weekend working however we do not envisage this to be regular.
