We are looking to recruit an experienced, organised and motivated Patient Pathway Administrator/Medical Secretary to provide an efficient administrative service to Trauma, based at the Horton General Hospital, Banbury.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work directly with the clinical team and we are keen to appoint someone who is enthusiastic and motivated and who can manage the fluctuating demands of the role. You will have excellent word processing skills and well-developed communication, organisational and time management skills. An ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment is essential. You will need to be flexible and have the necessary secretarial/administrative experience required for such a post. Previous medical secretary experience would be an advantage. You will have a good general level of education including GCSE English grade C or equivalent as well as excellent word processing skills.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Accurately transcribe from specified digital software, outpatient clinical correspondence to be of a high standard within specified timescales. Be the Reconstruction Surgery Coordinator and the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Clinic Coordinator Be able to use your judgement and initiative to prioritise requests within defined guidelines. Ability to deal with sensitive information with respect and in a confidential manner. Confidently liaise with other departments, GPs, external Trusts and patients to ensure smoothness and timely transition for the patient on their journey through the hospital. Undertake specific duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures to facilitate the patient pathway. Ensure that the patient RTT data is accurate at all times. Adapt a flexible attitude to meet the needs of the service, taking into consideration each departments unique requirements such as specialist services. Provide cover and work with colleagues and as a Team during times of annual leave and sickness. Promote an open and friendly working environment.
