Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there’ll be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there’s flexibility on where you’re based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This’ll be discussed in more detail at interview. 

What you'll be doing

As a key member of the national Registrar Team in the Collections Management and Information department, you’ll help manage collections, acquisitions, loans, and other Registrar activities. You'll oversee a range of projects, working closely with curators, conservators, collections, and house teams, as well as external partners and contractors, to ensure our programme runs smoothly and on time.

Your role includes providing expert collections management support and advice, delivering training to colleagues, and maintaining accurate records in our collections management system and on SharePoint. You'll also prepare project plans and reports for senior management.

With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, you’ll thrive as part of our collaborative team, balancing multiple priorities to deliver excellent service within our resources and budget.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have:  Strong professional knowledge of the practical aspects of collection loans and acquisitions, including contracts, transport, insurance, Acceptance in Lieu, and the Government Indemnity Scheme. Understanding of relevant legislation, sector best practice, and guidelines, including due diligence, Spectrum, and Museum Accreditation. Proven experience in project management, with a track record of prioritising and delivering work on time and within budget. A collaborative team player, skilled at working with stakeholders, using tact and diplomacy to analyse issues and propose solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to balance perspectives and produce clear, concise reports for senior management.
