Main duties of the job

he Post Graduate Education Team have an exciting opportunity to join the team for a Fixed Term contract until the 21st July 2025. We are looking for a highly motivated practitioner, with a passion for education and teaching. As an Education Practitioner you will be expected to support the delivery of excellent training and development opportunities for post registration Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (AHP) learners across Barts Health NHS Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As part of the interview process, candidates will be expected to present a 10 minute presentation to the interview panel. Presentation title: 'How will you provide a safe, effective and inclusive learning environment for learners'.

Registered Nurse / midwife / AHP Mentorship course or equivalent teaching qualification Post Graduate Certificate in Education or working towards Recent teaching experience

Relevant experience post- registration Working with and supporting clinical staff Teaching experience Mentoring and Assessing learners in practice Supporting the development of new initiatives Experience of conflict management Understanding of the principles of clinical governance

Managing /coordinating training programmes Development & Design of teaching programmes Managing change and projects

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Nurse / Midwifery / AHP education processes Knowledge and understanding of the current NHS Issues NMC nursing education agenda

Excellent up to date clinical skills Using expertise to facilitate and support learners and others in groups or as individuals Good organisational skills including prioritising workload Numeracy and analytical skills Preparing and writing reports Supporting quality monitoring processes Working in a team Proficient IT: Outlook, Microsoft office . Facilitating teaching and learning on virtual platforms.
