An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time band 6 (0.5 WTE) Clinical Practice Facilitator to join the Surgical Specialties Division at UCLH. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career and has a passion for education.
You will join a team of Clinical Practice Facilitators within the division to support the education and professional development of the nursing and health care assistant staff, whilst promoting a culture of continuous learning. As a Clinical Practice Facilitator you will be responsible for supporting the Matrons, ward managers, deputies and working with the CPF team, to ensure that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of evidence based high-quality care.

**Main duties would include**:
- Maintaining high visibility within clinical practice settings
- Working collaboratively with the CPF’s, ward managers and key clinical educational leads to ensure quality education is delivered
- Support staff in meeting essential and desirable clinical skills e.g. oral & IV Medication administration, Venepuncture & Cannulation, blood administration and inserting NGTs
- Supporting the implementation of educational programmes within the ward/department
- Promoting current evidence based practice and sharing knowledge
- As a change agent in response to the department’s needs, firstly understanding the department culture prior to change
- Explore new ways of providing clinical learning experiences, promoting the implementation of new methods and ideas where appropriate
- Participate in teaching for the wider trust e.g. OSCE’s, In-house training programmes
- Assisting in the support of personal development plans in relation to clinical competence
- Assist with recruitment and selection of staff e.g. recruitment centre and interviews
- Work with other members of staff within the trust to facilitate educational sessions, both virtual and face to face
- Supervision of staff when required
- Maintain accurate records of all training carried out
