An excellent opportunity has arisenfor a qualified dispenser/pharmacy assistant to join our friendly team withinHolme Pharmacy, Holme on Spalding Moor. As well as dispensing staff, weemploy two counter assistants, 2 pharmacists and an Operations Manager. We holda 40 hour license and are open for customers Mon-Fri 08:30-12:30 and14:00-18:00.

We dispense prescriptions for theHolme-on-Spalding-Moor locality as well as hosting collection points at Brough& South Cave surgeries. In addition to prescription services, our pharmacyoffers services such as flu vaccines, consultations, minor ailments and muchmore.

Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship as we are not a registered overseas sponsor.

Main duties of the job

The role will include:

Working with colleagues to provide a friendly, supportiveservice to patients collecting prescription or with a medication query, referringto the Pharmacist as appropriate

Maintaining adequate stock levels of drugs in the dispensarythrough effective ordering and stock control

Processing paper and EPS prescriptions in line with StandardOperating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring the items are fully labelled and ready tobe checked by the pharmacist.

Processing prescriptions generated through the Golden Totescheme

Supporting the pharmacist with the provision of NHS &private services

Job responsibilities

Open up premises at the start of the day whenfirst to arrive and make all necessary preparations to receive patients. When last to leave at the end of the day, ensurethat the pharmacy is totally secured and internal lights are off. Processpaper and EPS prescriptions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),ensuring the items are fully labelled and ready to be checked by thepharmacist. Processprescriptions generated via the Golden Tote scheme. Queryprescription issues with the patients GP Practice including advising ofalternatives for out of stock items Handout prescriptions to patients checking exemption certificates and followingSOPs, offering medication advice and answering patient queries as necessary andreferring to the pharmacist as appropriate. Assistthe pharmacist in carrying out a Controlled Drug stock check as required. ProcessMDS trays following pharmacy SOPs for those patients in need. Givepatients advice on products and services including GSL (general sale list)medicines and P (Pharmacy) medicines, referring to the pharmacist asappropriate. PutOTC, retail and prescription sales through the till via cash or card payment. Cashup daily including printing till reports, doing end of day banking on cardmachine and rectifying any till discrepancies. Advisethe Finance Administrator when further change is required for the till. Maintainadequate stock levels of drugs, retail and OTC items within the pharmacy,ordering as required (paying attention to costing) and checking all invoicesagainst stock received. Rotating stock to ensure short-dated lines are usedfirst. Ensureprescriptions are endorsed correctly, overleaf completed by patient, counted,recorded and filed ready to be sent to the PPA for reimbursement at the end ofeach month. Answertelephone queries, referring to the pharmacist as appropriate. CheckPharmOutcomes & NHS Mail emails throughout the day. Checkand monitor fridge temperatures daily, reporting any issues to the pharmacist. Processprescriptions for Brough & South Cave collection points in line with theSOP including separating prescriptions and paperwork, texting patients withupdates, liaising with delivery driver, adding new patients onto the PMRsystem. Enterdata on Pharmoutcomes for NHS Services including vaccinations, emergencycontraception (EHC), methadone supervised consumption and minor ailments. Checkretrievals area every 2 months for uncollected prescriptions. Conductdate checks and remove out of date stock on a monthly basis. Disposeof returned medication in the DOOP bins, ensuring that the labels are placed inconfidential waste and the cardboard in the recycling waste. Togetherwith the pharmacist, destruct Controlled Drugs in accordance with SOPs andnational guidelines. Maintainconfidentiality at all times in accordance with General Data ProtectionRegulations including information relating to The Ridings Medical Grouppatients. Collectand record petty cash in line with pharmacy policy Take part in an annual Performance and Development review as required by thePharmacy. Workingin accordance with the Pharmacy SOPs at all times Providingcover for holidays and sickness to ensure continuation of the service.
