Are you a skilled chef seeking to further your professional career with the hospitality industry? We are looking to recruit a Junior Sous Chef to join our award winning team.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR …
This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for an experienced chef to take on a challenge. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion and flair in the culinary space. They will have solid experience in a similar role with a comprehensive knowledge of kitchen operations and proven track record in successfully working with a large kitchen brigade. We’re looking for people with a true passion for food with the ability to deliver a consistent product within a high-volume environment whilst keeping your cool when the pressure is on. Ideally you will have experience of managing a budget to cost, have your chef NVQ qualifications (or equivalent) as well as the appropriate food hygiene certificates.
WHAT YOU’LL DO …
You will ensure that all of the department’s requirements are dealt with in an orderly and accelerated manner. You will assist the Senior Chefs and act in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, making certain that all stock is correctly labelled and rotated. You will ensure the kitchen is clean at any given time and liaise with the Stewarding team for all cleaning requirements. You will handle all complaints swiftly and efficiently. You will also guarantee that all food items that are purchased are received and checked against the invoice, then stored in the correct manner. Most importantly, you and your team will consistently deliver the high quality food that our guests are used to.

Host venue of the 2014 NATO Summit and the 2010 Ryder Cup, the Celtic Manor Resort is one of Europe’s finest destinations for luxury escapes, family breaks, special occasions, golfing getaways and business events. The resort offers three championship golf courses, luxury spas, exceptional conference facilities and team-building and family activities including archery, adventure golf, laser clays and treetop ropes courses.
As well as the five-star Resort Hotel, the Collection also includes the historic Manor House, the stylish Coldra Court Hotel, 10 luxury self-catering Hunter Lodges, and the essential convenience of Tŷ Hotel Magor. The 170-bedroom Parkgate Hotel was opened in the city centre of Cardiff in Autumn 2021 in partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union, and a second Tŷ Hotel opened its doors at Milford Waterfront in the Spring of 2022 in partnership with the Port of Milford Haven. In September 2019, The Celtic Collection launched the new International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) in a joint venture partnership with Welsh Government.
