NB Postholder should only undertake duties for which training has been received and where relevant, competency based assessment successfully completed. Postholder must make nurses and others aware of any limitations to competence.

Main duties of the job

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the provision of patient care in accordance with the care plan prescribed by registered nurses. Examples of duties include delivery of hygiene, nutrition and hydration, continence care, pressure area care, mobility, rehabilitation and psychological support. Assist in the taking of patient's observations as appropriate to the level of knowledge skills and competence achieved. Record these in accordance with trust and local policies. Assist healthcare professional with treatment and carry out additional care roles under supervision and as determined by the levels of competence achieved.

NON CLINICAL REPOSNSIBILITIES

Perform general clerical activities to support the area. These duties will include answering the telephone taking and passing on of messages to the relevant person, filing, keeping patient's records tidy etc

We have an exciting opportunity for Band 2 Clinical Support Worker on Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit (SACU).

SACU is an assessment area that takes direct referrals from ED, Urgent Care Centre, GP and West Midlands Ambulance Services. We are open 24/7 and nurse a wide variety of patients from general surgery, colorectal, trauma and orthopedics, urology, ENT and emergency day case patients

SACU is looking for a Clinical Support Worker who is ready to develop their hands on skills and clinical skills in a very busy environment.

SACU will also give you the opportunity to expand with lots of training opportunities.

You will need to have the ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to work using your own initiative, as well as working effectively within our multi-disciplinary team.

We are passionate about improvement and nursing education is important to us.
