Job overview

In this role you will be a key part of facilitating this research. You will manage a team of senior research technicians and assistants to provide a high-quality clinical trial production service, thereby giving access to new, ground-breaking treatments to patients via study protocols. The postholder will have the opportunity to develop their leadership, line management, finance, risk assessment, audit, and inspection skills.

A GPhC-registered, pharmacy technician with at least 3 years’ experience in an NHS hospital healthcare setting would be well suited. Prior experience of working within clinical trials is essential. The post holder will be well supported by the Principal Research Pharmacy Technician and the senior team.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be trained to in the following:

the day-to-day operational management of the pharmacy clinical trials production staff and caseload oversee the activities within the production portfolio which the senior research pharmacy technicians are setting up and maintaining collaborate with local Principal Investigators to assure pharmaceutical aspects of injectable IMPs are always discussed and included negotiate with external sponsors to ensure a robust financial position is always maintained with respect to recovering costs for pharmacy activities chargeable by contract attend departmental, local, and national meetings to provide dispensary technical expertise and advice risk assess injectable IMPs for capacity and capability for production and nursing colleagues provide expert clinical trial advice for aspects of Good Manufacturing Practice for injectable IMPs. record and report data for time and target for local or national objectives and recording via the PCTU Dashboard and other KPIs in line with the department
