It is an exciting time to join Tameside council as we begin our plans to reform and redesign Adult Social Care and implement the intentions of The White Paper ‘People at the Heart of Care’.
The Assistant Team Manager of the Neighbourhood Service will be integral to the service transformation in delivering high quality services for the people of Tameside to live well at home. The Neighbourhood Service also provides assessments and support for unpaid carers.
The Role
To support the Team Manager to lead and manage a Neighbourhood Team within the Integrated Care and Support Service. Building strong positive working relationships across Adult Services and the wider Health, Community and Voluntary sector. Ensuring a streamlined efficient response in managing the service leading to positive outcomes for people.
The Neighbourhood Teams are made up, Social Workers, Assessor Care Co-ordinators, Health and Wellbeing Advisors, Direct Payment Officer, Occupational Therapy Services, including Manual Handling Officers.
This will include, day to day leadership and management of a diverse Neighbourhood team, strategic development of the Neighbourhood Service as part of the Integrated Care and Support Service.
Developing business processes/guidance and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective running of the service.
Effective managerial leadership of the Neighbourhood team ensuring a clear direction for the service in accordance with statutory framework, policies and procedures for varied disciplines of practitioners.
Build and develop the strengths and skills of employees within the service, creating a confident workforce and promoting a learning culture across the service.
An ability to lead, motivate and develop managers within the service, and ensure they maintain a culture of change that is team based, performance driven and maintains the motivation of staff.
To ensure the service area are accountable for their practice and are implementing the principles of the Care Act via a person centred approach meeting statutory requirements.
Provide oversight and leadership of all safeguarding responsibilities within the service area and provide a learning culture with regards to practice improvement ensuring quality standards are achieved
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Assistant Team Manager to lead on the delivery of the Neighbourhood Service. The Neighbourhood teams provide short and long term interventions to maximise independent living and will respond to non-urgent referrals carrying out a holistic person centred assessment.
- You will be passionate about supporting people to live well at home.
- You will have experience of direct work with Adults and experience of working in an integrated system including safeguarding.
- You will have extensive experience in Adult Social Care within a Local Authority.
- You will have experience of leading service areas through change/redesign and have excellent communication skills.
- You will have strategic vision and the ability to forward plan, setting targets and service planning.
