Assistant Team Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join our Mental Health team at Tameside Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Team Manager in leading the service transformation and implementing the White Paper 'People at the Heart of Care'.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in social work, with experience in direct work with adults with mental illness and a good knowledge of transitions and the SEND agenda. You will be passionate about supporting people to live well at home and have excellent communication skills.
As an Assistant Team Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Team Manager in leading the team, developing strategic vision, and implementing service planning. You will also be responsible for building and developing the strengths and skills of employees within the service, creating a confident learning and development environment for staff and managers to progress their careers in Tameside.
The ideal candidate will have a level 6 social work degree or equivalent, experience of leading service areas through change and redesign, and excellent communication skills. You will be able to develop strategic vision and forward plan, setting targets and service planning.
