Overview - The Compliance Coordinator is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within our manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and technical expertise to maintain and enhance our operations. This role will report to the Technical Manager.

What the day job looks like:
In this full-time role as a Compliance Coordinator, working alongside the Quality Assurance and Technical team, you will be responsible for:
Data Management & Reporting:
- Populate and publish internal and customer KPI reports on time.
- Analyse and distribute key technical metrics internally with actionable insights for departmental heads.
Customer Communication & Compliance
- Respond to customer complaints and inquiries requiring technical expertise.
- Manage Supplier Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs) for customers.
- Submit Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) and documentation for export compliance.
Technical System Administration
- Maintain and update technical control documents (procedures, standards, risk assessments) ensuring clear communication of changes to relevant teams and smooth implementation across the site.
- Monitor non-conformities (NCs) in Compliant and track reoccurring issues for effective root cause analysis (RCA).
Audit & Risk Management
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with BRCGS, customer Codes of Practice, and internal policies.
- Maintain robust product safety rationale supported by risk assessments and validations.
Product Testing & Validation
- Oversee shelf-life validation and environmental/process validation programs.
- Implement chemical and microbiological testing programs to verify safety and authenticity.
- Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and ensure timely resolution.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Lead initiatives to embed a positive food safety and quality culture across the site.
- Promote a Lean culture by driving efficiencies and adopting Lean principles.
- Deliver robust internal audit plans to identify gaps and implement improvements.
- Monitor emerging risks through horizon scanning and coordinate site-level mitigations.
Training & People Management
- Deliver training in compliance-related procedures.
- Organise food safety, HACCP, and quality training, maintaining accurate records.
Documentation Control
- Develop and issue Visual Standards through Compliant for a paperless approach.
- Ensure process validations and control measures are documented and reviewed annually.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Technical Department to ensure alignment.
- Actively contribute to the development, review and maintenance of the HACCP, TACCP, Allergen and Authenticity plans by identifying and mitigating risks.
- Coordinate with other departments to manage overlapping systems and processes
This role will suit you if:
- You have strong experience in a technical or administrative within food manufacturing, with BRC and customer codes or practice knowledge.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- You have good knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety regulations
- You have strong data management and document control skills
- You have good experience supporting audit, preparing documentation and tracking corrective actions.

This role may not be for you if:
- You do not have effective communication and customer service skills
- You struggle with time management, reliability, deadlines, or working effectively as part of a team
- You are not proficient in data entry, trending technical metrics and reporting within quality management systems.
- You do not enjoy tasks that require you to be organized and have an eye for details.
- You are not collaborative and do not have a proactive approach to problem-solving

Terms
- 40 hrs/week i.e 09.00 – 17.30 Mon-Fri – these hours are flexible by agreement with your manager.
- Hybrid role – 4 days in office, 1 day WFH.
- Probationary period 3 months
- Annual salary review (our ‘movers and shakers’ are always rewarded)
- 10% KPI related bonus based around challenging but achievable tasks related to the role
