Job summary
The post holder will:
Assist in the routine functioning of the Infection Prevention Team within The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust acting in an administrative capacity for the Infection Prevention service Communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals (including consultants), hospital & community staff (including senior managers), external partners and members of the public. Strive to develop and maintain good working relationships.
Main duties of the job
A wide range of clerical duties including:
To be line managed by the PA to Head of Nursing - Corporate Support Services and to work in collaboration with all members of the Infection Prevention Team. To work with other secretarial and administrative staff within the department to maintain the administrative functions of the Infection Prevention Team during periods of absence. To communicate with all members of the wider multi-disciplinary team both internal and external to the Trust. To communicate with patients, their carers and members of the public.

Job description
Job responsibilities
To be based within Infection Prevention Team and provide administrative support for the service. Deal with telephone enquiries into the Infection Prevention Department. To help with the prioritisation of enquiries to allow urgent enquiries to be answered in a timely fashion. Data entry input using software such as Microsoft Excel, liaising with senior members of the Infection Prevention Team. The staff member will have a flexible and adaptive approach to this work. Duties will include word processing, e-mail, photocopying, scanning, filing, taking and preparation of minutes for meetings, follow up telephone calls to patients. All enquiries and patient questionnaires are to be dealt with giving due regard to patient confidentiality. To access and update the electronic systems used by the Infection Prevention Team eg. ICNET. To act in a courteous and professional manner at all times in line with Trust values. Person Specification
