We have a fantastic opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our healthcare team at HMP Lewes, a category B remand prison based in Lewes, East Sussex. The prison houses around 692 patients aged between 18-65 years of age. Within this role you will be working in receptions supporting the intake of new patients into the prison. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team including the substance misuse nurses, and early days mental health team to deliver high quality healthcare services. Suitable applicant for this role must have experience and feel confident prescribing controlled substance.

Hours Monday to Friday 6pm-10pm Saturday 2-6 We are also able to consider this as a job share

Salary

This position is a part time role working 24 hour per week, with an annual salary of up to £130,000 FTE per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldnt usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment. Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
