We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B remand prison based in East Sussex. As a GP, you will be part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team providing high-quality care to patients aged between 18-65.

This is a unique opportunity to deliver end-to-end care in a secure environment. You will complete ward rounds on the inpatient unit, conduct clinical sessions, and prescribe medications as needed. A significant proportion of patients have long-term conditions, making this role ideal for GPs who want to make a real difference.

The salary for this part-time position (16 hours per week) is up to £63,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes additional benefits such as bespoke induction, competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, and access to our Learning Management System.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A MBChB or MBBS qualification and inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these
