Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking team player to work 25 hours within our administrative team.

The role will include typing eReferrals, assisting the clinical coder, scanning and importing of hospital letters, following up patient hospital appointments where necessary, preparing insurance reports and liaising with the clinicians and insurance companies and solicitors, assist with recalls system for chronic diseases .

Summary

The main purpose of the postis to assist and support the Practice Secretary in the secretarial duties to the clinical team and provide assistance to the clinical Coder and the Data Quality Manager.

Teamwork

All employees are expected tobe flexible and display a high standard of teamwork. This includes cooperatingin undertaking the work of absent colleagues or assisting others where theworkload is particularly high. Accordingly, there may be a requirement, fromtime to time, to undertake other duties in an administrative role

Principal Responsibilities

To provide secretarialsupport to practice and patients, working under supervision and in accordancewith practice protocols and guidelines.

Ensure efficientpatient service by prompt production of referral letters

Following uppatients hospital appointments when necessary.

Comply withAccess to Medical Records Act by dealing promptly with processing Insurance reports,production of the appropriate invoice, liaising with the clinicians andinsurance companies and copying Patient Notes for solicitors etc.

Liaise withhospitals and patients regarding appointments.

Assist theclinical coder with the clinical coding, scanning and importing ofcorrespondence into patient records,

Deal with Accessto Record requests from patients and their representatives, as required.

Support theclinical coder to input accurate, comprehensive information of allcorrespondence in the patients electronic record, both written andcomputerised,

Awareness of QOF, Snomed CT codes and alerts needed for standardised care.

Support the DataManager where required

Manage the upkeep ofGP LINK operations

Return of notesand marking notes arrived. Summarisingpatient notes.
