Role Summary

We are looking for a experienced and motivated Nurse to join our team on the Acute stroke unit as a Practice Educator.

The candidate will be required to have 2 years recent acute stroke experience. 

Whilst the role is in part to work as a Practice Educator, the candidate would also be required to cover the ward shifts as part of the Band 6 team.

The Practice Educator role will include supporting the ward manager with training for all staff, supporting with the management of new starters, including overseeing their probationary period. Arranging and managing the student Nurses, and allocation of assessors. Setting up and managing the acute stroke training days, and working alongside the ward manager and other Band 6's to support with the completion of PDR's, and arranging necessary training following on from these.

As part of the Band 6 team there will also be a requirement to work within the clinical shifts. The shift patterns are long days/nights, and include working weekends. As Nurse in charge on the unit you will be required to coordinate the ward, working alongside site management and the stroke practitioners to facilitate good patient flow between ED/AMU and the ward. You will require hyperacute stroke experience, and will need to work well under pressure. 

Working Pattern: hours per week,Long days, including some weekends
