An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior People Advisor who is ready for the next move, to join the WX People Team as a Band 6.

This is a newly created role to support one of our four divisions.

Reporting to the WX HR Business Partner, the post holder will ensure the provision of professional, customer-focussed HR advice, coaching and solutions to the designated Division.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

o Ensuring Trust People policies and procedures are translated and applied locally within operating frameworks.

o Providing high quality HR advice, support and workforce information to managers within the designated Division, working closely with other colleagues and People teams to ensure consistency.

o Supporting the HR Business Partner in the implementation of Barts Health People Strategies across WX.

o Working with designated management teams, to develop and influence their understanding and implementation of key People priorities within their teams.

o Directly participate in and influence People policy and practice development across the Trust.

o To participate in delivering training to support managers to effectively manage people related matters.

Main duties of the job

o Reporting to the People Business Partners and with leadership from the Director of People, Whipps Cross the post holder will ensure the provision of professional, customer-focussed HR advice, coaching and solutions to Whipps Cross divisions.

o To ensure Trust People policies and procedures are translated and applied locally within operating frameworks.

Experience

Essential

Generalist HR experience demonstrating competence across the range of HR functions Track record of providing specialist HR advice to services and managers in a multi-disciplinary team environment Track record of successfully advising managers on a range of Employee Relations issues including complex cases with minimal supervision. Ability to self-manage and prioritise conflicting demands Experience of working as an HR Advisor in in the public sector or in a large complex organisation with union recognition Proven effective problem solving ability Experience of supporting change management in a complex, unionized environment

Experience of working with business performance metrics/data to guide and direct strategy Experience of interpreting and applying HR knowledge to workforce management Experience of working as an HR Advisor in the NHS

Skills

Essential

Effective written and oral communication skills for a variety of formal and informal purposes Ability to cope with frequent distressing and emotional circumstances Able to influence and negotiate and persuade regarding sensitive issues Ability to cope with unpredictable and intense situations Able to input data and manipulate data Ability to use Microsoft Office to a minimum intermediate level Ability to work with unpredictable situations and under pressure and to tight deadlines with frequent interruptions Experience of developing people through individual coaching or group training on a range of HR policies.
