NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Are you passionate about developing yourself, others and services. We have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join the NHS Tayside pharmacy education and training team with the remit to lead on the development, delivery and management of the education and training of pharmacy support staff, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and post registration pharmacy technicians.

The post holder will work in collaboration with NHS Education Scotland, FE colleges and learning providers, Skills Development Scotland and NHS Tayside pharmacy teams and community pharmacy colleagues.

You will lead on the local delivery of the National Technical Apprenticeship Training Scheme for Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs) and Vocational Training Foundation Pharmacy Technician Programme. This will require working closely with NHS Education for Scotland and engaging in national professional networks to ensure that NHST meets the ongoing requirements for the scheme. You will be an expert source of information and advice for managers and assessors supporting the PTPTs.

You will line manage members of the team including Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs)

This post holder will have previous experience in one or more sectors including Primary Care, Hospital or Community Pharmacy and be registered with the GPhC.

You should also hold an assessor qualification recognised by SQA or be committed to completing qualification at the earliest opportunity

This position will be ideally suited to a pharmacy technician who thrives on helping learners to maximise their learning opportunities in the workplace and who enjoys seeing others succeed.
