Pharmacy Technician Team Manager

University Hospital Monklands is seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to lead our team as the Pharmacy Technician Team Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to provide managerial and professional leadership to the acute pharmacy technician team, while also leading on the safe and cost-effective purchasing of medicines.

About the Role

We are looking for a pharmacy technician with extensive and varied experience within hospital pharmacy practice, including knowledge of procurement and stock control. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising staff, developing and implementing SOPs, and leading on change management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial and professional leadership to the acute pharmacy technician team
  • Lead on the safe and cost-effective purchasing of medicines
  • Manage and supervise staff, including recruitment and application of HR policies
  • Develop and implement SOPs across a variety of tasks
  • Lead on change management initiatives

Requirements

  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • SVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 plus accredited underpinning knowledge National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development/management training, including HNC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Management (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional Development Award (PDA) - Dispensary Checking Technician Qualification (DCT)
  • Work-Based Assessor Qualification (or willingness to work towards)
