Lead Clinical Pharmacy Technician

Role Summary:

As a Lead Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in leading the development of clinical pharmacy services in cancer care, providing line management and mentoring to clinical pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of clinical pharmacy services in cancer care, working collaboratively with the Pharmacy Leadership Team and other stakeholders.
  • Provide line management and mentoring to clinical pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with equivalent/similar postholders in other acute sites and primary care to enhance the experience and development of pharmacy technicians in NHS Lothian.
  • Represent the Pharmacy Leadership Team and pharmacy technicians in NHS Lothian, contributing to the development of pharmacy services and policies.

Requirements:

  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Recognised qualification at HNC level in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
  • Final accuracy checking technician qualification.
  • Appropriate PDA qualification.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time post with a weekend and public holiday rota commitment. You will be based at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, working as part of a dynamic and supportive team.
