Pharmacy Technician Team Manager

University Hospital Monklands is seeking an experienced and dynamic pharmacy technician to join our team as the Pharmacy Technician Team Manager. The successful candidate will provide managerial and professional leadership to the acute pharmacy technician team within UH Monklands, as well as leading on the safe and cost-effective purchasing of medicines.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services. The post holder will be responsible for managing and supervising staff, developing and implementing SOPs, and leading on change management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide managerial and professional leadership to the acute pharmacy technician team
  • Lead on the safe and cost-effective purchasing of medicines
  • Manage and supervise staff, including recruitment and HR policies
  • Develop and implement SOPs across a variety of tasks
  • Lead on change management initiatives
  • Manage audits and project work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete complex routine and non-routine documentation
  • Complex pharmacy computer and IT skills, including reporting financial data
Requirements
  • Membership of Professional Body General Pharmaceutical Council
  • SVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 plus accredited underpinning knowledge National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development/management training, including HNC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Management (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional Development Award (PDA) - Dispensary Checking Technician Qualification (DCT)
  • Work-Based Assessor Qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • Leadership and managerial experience within hospital pharmacy practice
