Job overview

The post-holder’s duties as the Maternal Medicine Network Lead Midwife will primarily based in the Women’s Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital. However, the post involves the education, training, mentorship and clinical support with other units in the region.

The lead obstetrician, physician and network lead midwife will provide clinical leadership to improve the care of women who are pregnant and have acute or chronic medical conditions.

The Maternal Medicine Network Lead Midwife will co-ordinate midwifery models of care across the network, achieving midwifery-led models of care through the establishment of continuity of carer teams with specific expertise of providing care for women with medical complexity. 

Main duties of the job

This post is for a Maternal Medicine Network Lead Midwife with extensive and current expertise in antenatal, intrapartum and post-partum management of women with medical disorders. 

The key functions of this post are, expert clinical advice, clinical/professional leadership, research and evaluation, education, training and development
