Neonatal Specialist Registrar

Oxford, United Kingdom Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The unit is a Level 3 intensive care unit, caring for both medical and surgical neonates. There are 16 intensive care, high dependency and special care cots. Training will be given in all aspects of neonatal care and there is opportunity to attend several combined clinical meetings with other department

**Aims and responsibilities**: The key responsibility is to provide clinical care to babies admitted under the care of the neonatal unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. The Oxford neonatal unit is the only level III centre in the Thames Valley Neonatal Network and admits the full range of medical and surgical neonatal patients. Oxford is also an established regional centre for prenatal and feto-maternal medicine and neonatal surgery, including cardiac and neurosurgery. This is supervised post and the doctor would be allocated a clinical supervisor. It would be the doctor’s duty to keep the clinical and educational portfolio upto date.

Study leave and holiday weeks are built into the rolling rota. Doctors are required to be present at handover ward rounds and will be primarily responsible for the delivery of the scheduled programme of care for babies in their designated clinical areas.

Oxford is an exciting and dynamic place to be a medical clinician. The people we recruit into our amazing teams bring with them the innovation and cutting-edge research that takes medical care forward and makes us so proud.

We are deeply committed to ensuring every single one of our employees feels valued in their role: as a part of our team you will be integral to providing the evidence-based, individually-tailored care that is central to everything we do.

We like to say we're the best at what we do - and to prove it

Oxford is a great place to be, so if you are thinking of joining us to, then we'd love to hear from you
