Job Description for Business Development Manager:

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with an engineering background? We have an exciting new opportunity to join an established organisation with over 60 years within their trade who are now looking to utilise their capacity and capabilities of their onsite machines and services which include: CNC Milling and Turning, Laser Cutting, Welding, Fabrication, Press Brake.  The ideal candidate for this role will have a background within this sector (fabrication and machining) and can develop and execute a Sales Strategy using their industry knowledge. This is the perfect next step for an experienced sales manager/ BDM to apply their existing skills and knowledge to be instrumental in developing and executing a growth plan.  
 
Duties and responsibilities for Business Development Manager:
  • Developing strategic sales plan to execute within business. This would be broken down into time scales, outlining clear strategic SMART objectives to achieve sales target.
  • Use industry knowledge to develop a sales pipeline and utilise existing / new industry relationships to generate sustainable sales growth.
  • Understand business USP’s and capacity/capability to ensure client satisfaction and present realistic SLA’s.
  • Use marketing affectively to gain further market exposure to drive sales.
  • Report weekly/monthly on KPI’s agreed.
  • Liaise internally with departments to ensure a smooth sales process for client and internal teams.
  • Regular contact is made with clients to ensure retention and customer satisfaction.
  • Developing a sales pipeline.
  • Attending trade shows and exhibitions; networking and delivering pitch on company.
  • Ability to spot opportunities and understand industry to lead generate.
 
Skills and Attributes required:
  • You will have a background within engineering to ensure technical understanding of product and processes. Experience within sector is essential ideally fabrication and machining.
  • Proven track record within a similar position, at least 5 years sales experience.
  • Excellent rapport building skills with a passion for driving new business.
  • Strong analytical acumen and confident presenting to clients.
  • Self-driven, this is a standalone position and will have internal support but must be able to direct own initiatives and execute.
 
This is an office-based position Monday-Friday required on site. Equivalent 160hrs floating holiday (Hours deducted for Christmas shut-down) plus bank holidays. Competitive salary on offer plus car allowance; further benefits to be disclosed.
