Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Outpatient Administrative Assistant

Job summary
The outpatient MSK physiotherapy and hand therapy service are seeking a fixed term, maternity cover admin assistant to join our team. This will be for a 9 month period, 26 hours per week. Days and hours are negotiable on appointment.
The role involves organising referrals, contacting patients and the planning of the therapist's diaries. The department is busy and the successful candidate will have strong problem solving skills as well as the ability to work independently, being the first contact many of our patients have to our service.
There is a full induction process with 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff ). You will receive an appraisal and regular in-house training.
Main duties of the job
To carry out administrative tasks to support the delivery of the Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Outpatients department. There are approximately 7 therapists who run daily clinics providing therapy assessment and treatment to patients following an acute injury or surgical intervention. The role requires an organised, flexible and caring person to manage the administrative tasks required to deliver an excellent service such as booking patients, managing staff diaries, speaking to patients over the telephone and updating the hospital computer system regarding patient outcomes.
