Outpatient Administrative Coordinator for Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy

Harlow, Essex, United Kingdom The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

The outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy and hand therapy department is looking for a temporary administrative coordinator to support our team. This role is designed to assist with various administrative functions essential for the smooth operation of our services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient referrals, communicating with patients, and organizing the schedules of our therapists. Given the fast-paced nature of the department, strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work autonomously are crucial, as this role serves as the initial point of contact for many patients.

We offer a comprehensive induction program, along with 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time staff). Regular performance reviews and in-house training opportunities will also be provided.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include:

  • Executing administrative tasks to facilitate the operations of the Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Outpatients department.
  • Supporting approximately seven therapists who conduct daily clinics, providing assessments and treatments to patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.
  • Managing patient bookings, coordinating staff schedules, and maintaining communication with patients via telephone.
  • Updating the hospital's electronic systems with relevant patient information and outcomes.
